How do I get a job at Gas Powered Games?

Are there any tips for creating a resume?

Yes - be specific in your objective! Having a clear, focused direction makes it easier for your resume to be passed on to the right hands, and makes the hiring manager confident that you are really interested in that area. Even if you change the objective for each resume you send out, that is better than having 1 resume with several different objectives listed. Above all, keep it honest, clean, concise, and easy to read.

Will I hear back from Gas Powered Games about my application? You will receive an e mail indicating we have received your resume and passed it on. If the department you applied for is interested in pursuing your application, you will be contacted for more information or for an interview. Due to the large number of applications we receive, we are unable to contact every applicant personally. However, rest assured that every resume for each posted job is directly sent to the hiring manager. GPG will contact you if you are being considered for a position.

Does Gas Powered Games offer internships?

Unfortunately, we are not offering any internships at this time.

Can I receive feedback about my demo reel?

We cannot provide feedback on your demo reel or why we passed on your application.

What courses should I take in school and what colleges do you prefer?

Qualifications for jobs require many different abilities. Often times experience will substitute for formal education, and vice versa. Ultimately, Gas Powered Games is looking for the most capable and qualified individuals with demonstrated skill to join our team.

What should I include in my demo reel?

GPG accepts DVDs, CDs, and links to websites (preferred). You can also attach samples to your application. Please limit your attachments to 2MB. Quality is much more important than quantity. Try to send samples that are relevant to the types of games that we make.

What if I want a job that isn't being advertised?

Please check back at another time. If it isn't on our jobs page, it isn't available at this time. Our needs are constantly changing, so keep checking back every couple of weeks.

Does GPG offer any contract work?

Only in very rare circumstances. All of our posted positions are full time, onsite in our offices located in Redmond, WA.

What does GPG pay and what are the benefits?

Compensation for each position is discussed toward the end of the interview process.
